It’s not every day you get publicly recognized as an exceptional place to work. On June 15, MIL was honored with exactly that, as it was awarded a spot on the Washington Post’s Top Work Places list. The best part? Winners were picked by the submissions of internal surveys – meaning our team liked working here so much that our results beat out over 3000 other companies to make a list of the top 150. In fact, we were ranked 13th out of 25 large businesses across multiple industries.

These days, an employee expects a lot more than a steady paycheck from their employer. The modern workforce seeks places of employment that support work-life balance, provides meaningful work, allows for transparency in organizational procedures, and most importantly, respectful treatment of its employees. It goes without saying that MIL strives to provide this type of atmosphere across all of our locations and contract sites.

Our survey results, which were conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm, indicated that we scored best for being a place that promotes work-life balance and employing supportive management. The survey also revealed that our team felt that MIL provided them with meaningful work and a feeling that they are a part of something bigger.

In the Society for Human Resource Management’s (SRM) recent survey regarding employee engagement and work satisfaction, it found that in order for highest levels of satisfaction to occur, transparency and equality must be apparent from the top-down and bottom-up in an organization.  With a motto of “People Making the Difference,” we believe in just that, because we understand that our team members are what make this organization tick. Each of our employees are responsible for client satisfaction, and providing them with a positive work environment where they feel respected and informed is the best way to ensure everyone is well taken care of under our MIL umbrella.

In addition to being honored at an event last Thursday evening at The Washington Post headquarters, Top Workplace winners were featured in a special section of the Sunday, June 18 edition of the Post as well as its Sunday magazine. We are incredibly proud to be on the list and would like to thank our team for taking part in the survey.
