Top Workplaces Awards Programs MIL has won the Top Workplaces honor by The Washington Post for six consecutive years. Thousands of companies from the Greater Washington Area are invited to participate in The Washington Post’s Top Workplaces Survey, with only 200 selected for the Top Workplaces award. MIL ranked 17th out of 30 large businesses across multiple industries. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement.
MIL has won the Top Workplaces honor for South Carolina three times since 2017. Most recently, this award is given by Greenville Business Magazine, Columbia Business Monthly, and Charleston Business Magazine. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. MIL was one of 42 companies that made the South Carolina Top Workplaces list and also won the overall category of “Appreciation” across participating local companies.
MIL earned the 2021 Top Workplaces USA award, issued by Energage , a purpose-driven organization that develops solutions to build and brand Top Workplaces. This is the inaugural year for Top Workplaces USA, built on the program’s 14-year history surveying more than 20 million employees across 54 markets for the regional Top Workplaces awards. Top Workplaces USA offers national recognition for large organizations, those with more than 150 employees, and those that may have operations in multiple markets. Several thousand organizations from across the country were invited, and more than 1,100 participated in the Top Workplaces USA survey. Winners of the Top Workplaces USA list are chosen based solely on employee feedback gathered through an employee engagement survey, issued by Energage.

Through proprietary assessment tools, advisory services, and certification programs, including Best Workplaces lists and workplace reviews, Great Place to Work® provides the benchmarks, framework, and expertise needed to create, sustain, and recognize outstanding workplace cultures.
The Best Workplaces for Millennials award is based on analysis of survey responses from more than 5.3 million current employees. MIL ranked #62 in this category.
Great Place to Work® honored MIL as one of the Best Workplaces in Consulting & Professional Services™., in 2021 and 2022 . The Best Workplaces in Consulting & Professional Services award is based on analysis of survey responses from over 104,000 employees from Great Place to Work-Certified™ companies in the consulting and professional services industry. In that survey, 92% of MIL employees said it’s a great place to work – 33 points higher than the average U.S. company. The ranking is based on confidential survey feedback representing more than 280,000 employees working at small- and medium-sized businesses in the United States. Great Place to Work evaluated more than 60 elements of team members’ experience on the job. These included the extent to which employees trust leaders, the respect with which people are treated, the fairness of workplace decisions, and how much camaraderie there is among the team. Rankings are based on employees’ feedback and reward companies that best include all employees, no matter who they are or what they do for the organization. MIL placed 75/100 on the list 2020 list and 50/100 on the 2021 list.
Great Place to Work and FORTUNE honored MIL as one of the 2018 Best Workplaces for Diversity. The Best Workplaces for Diversity rankings not only stand out for diverse organization and management team data, but for how employees report they are treated in the workplace. Out of 100 organizations selected for the list, MIL took the 86th slot. To determine the list, Great Place to Work analyzed and compared the experiences of women, people of color, LGBTQ individuals, employees who are Boomers or older, and people who have disabilities within the organization. The 60 question, anonymous survey administered to all participating organizations reflects day-to-day workplace treatment, representing more than 4.4 million employees’ work lives.

Employer Support of the National Guard (ESGR) Awards MIL received the 2022 Maryland Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Freedom Award in the large business category. The prestigious award given by ESGR, a staff group with Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, is the highest recognition presented by the Department of Defense (DoD) to employers who provide the most outstanding support for National Guard and Reserve members.
MIL received the Maryland Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Above and Beyond in 2018. The prestigious award given by ESGR, a staff group with Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, recognizes employers who have gone above and beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) to provide exceptional benefits to its National Guard and Reserve employees.
