The MIL Corporation takes pride in being a family-owned and operated business and withholds the same values within the company. MIL makes it a priority to appreciate its employees and their loved ones through annual awards events such as our Winter Awards Celebration, Spring Events, and Crab Feast. Although our offices are dispersed across the East Coast, via the Washington, D.C. area, Lexington Park, and Charleston S.C.,  we make it a priority to bring everyone together as ofretirementten as possible.

The MIL Calendar of Appreciation begins at the beginning of each year with our Winter Celebration and Awards Ceremony. In Charleston, the event is held at a local Hyatt, and for our employees in the Washington, D.C. area, the event is held at the MGM in National Harbor. In 2018, both events had a wonderful turnout of over 200 employees and their guests in Charleston, and over 400 employees and their guests in Washington D.C. The nights-out allowed families a night away from home to enjoy dinner, dancing, games, and a wide-array of fun activities. The event celebrates our tenure employees, celebrating their 10th, 20th, 30th, and even 35th year with MIL!

In the spring of 2018, our Washington D.C. area based employees came together yet again. With a turn-out of over 500, MIL invited their employees and families for a day of fun at Kings Dominion. The catered picnic, activities and cartoon appearances for kids, and wide-array of rides for all ages were an absolute hit amongst the crowd. The event was only a small token of appreciation for our Top Workplaces Award from the Washington Post for the second year in a row.

MIL closes our summer season with an annual Crab Feast and Awards Ceremony held at Mayo Beach Park in Edgewater, MD. The event is held annually each September, and this year, while the weather called for clouds and rain, over 300 MIL employees and their loved ones celebrated at the event. The Crab Feast is host to multiple activities for children and adults, including a catered BBQ and Crab Feast, face painting, henna tattoos, caricature artists, and more! Attendees also took the opportunity to stop by our photobooth and pose for a smile. Also during the feast, MIL held their first ever car show which was a great success. Jeff Urness took first place for his show-stopping Harley. The event concluded with a small awards ceremony for Employee of the Month recognition from September 2017 through July 2018. The rain poured, but the celebrations went on!

The events we have held throughout this past year have given us a chance to recognize those who matter, our People Who Make the Difference. As a company that provides services, we would not be where we are without our staff.
