MIL Welcomes Teresa Hunter as Vice President of Business Development
Bowie, Md.— Feb. 19, 2026 — The MIL Corporation (MIL) announced that Teresa Hunter has joined the company as vice president of business development. In this role, Hunter will leverage MIL’s federal financial services and systems solutions to build a portfolio of clients and teams, driving innovation and operational excellence across the organization.
Hunter brings nearly two decades of leadership experience in federal financial management, strategic planning and operational transformation. Most recently, she served as chief financial officer at the Internal Revenue Service, acting as principal financial adviser to the IRS commissioner while leading a team of more than 500 employees and managing a $12 billion budget. Under her leadership, the IRS advanced the use of artificial intelligence and automation to streamline operations — saving thousands of staff hours, reducing cycle times and strengthening agility and resilience across the nation’s tax administration.
Hunter began her career at KPMG LLP as a licensed CPA, managing complex federal audits for agencies including the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security. She later held leadership roles at the Department of the Interior, Department of Homeland Security and General Services Administration, where she drove internal control improvements and led financial reporting initiatives that contributed to historic audit successes.
“Teresa’s proven track record of driving transformation and leveraging technology to improve federal financial operations aligns perfectly with MIL’s mission,” said Marisa Daley, president of MIL. “Her expertise will help us accelerate data-driven decision-making, strengthen internal controls and advance the practical application of AI and automation in our engagements — continuing our commitment to excellence for our clients and our people.”
Hunter will collaborate across MIL’s business development and delivery teams to expand the company’s footprint in federal financial management and systems modernization. She will also represent MIL on multiple panels at the Association of Government Accountants National Leadership Training this week in Washington, D.C.
