MIL to sponsor AGA-hosted event geared towards federal and private financial managers
BOWIE, Md.—Jan. 8, 2013— Today’s financial management environment can be a volatile place in terms of managing ever changing technological advances while overseeing a budget. AGA intends to bring industry professionals together this week at the 2013 Federal Financial Systems Summit to learn and discuss challenges in these modernization initiatives. The MIL Corporation (MIL) will attend as a sponsor and exhibitor to keep up to speed with standards of practice.
The day-long event will focus most specifically on recent and pending OMB promulgations and Treasury initiatives related to the “Shared First” strategy, which directs agencies to leverage shared services for their core financial systems modernization initiatives.
“The modernization initiatives are a daily battle in the federal financial management community,” said MIL Vice President, Lloyd Farmer. “MIL takes pride in navigating budgetary issues while providing innovative solutions that work for both our client and government standards. Conferences like these are an excellent place to learn how and why changes are being made so that we can continue offering superior services.”
Sessions will address core accounting issues, strategies for utilizing existing technologies, industry effects on the market place, the shared service model, and legislative impacts. Key policy makers from OMB and Treasury will be present to have an open dialogue via a Town Hall-style session where participants will be encouraged to engage policymakers with their thoughts, ideas and concerns.
The Federal Financial Systems Summit is hosted by AGA, an organization which supports the careers and professional development of government finance professionals. The event will take place on Jan. 10, 2013, from 8:30 – 4:30 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt Washington, D.C. To learn more about the event, click here.
