MIL’s Harvey Weiner and John Roland to serve as moderators at annual AGA conference
BOWIE, Md.—July 10, 2011— THE MIL Corporation (MIL) is set to participate at AGA’s Annual Professional Development Conference & Exposition (PDC) this week. In its 60th year, the conference is known as the premier education and networking event for government financial managers and accountability professionals.
Harvey Weiner, MIL Senior Assistant Vice President, will act as a moderator for the session titled, “W111: Getting FIT for the Future—How Do We Trim the Fat in Financial Management Activities?” John Roland, MIL Assistant Vice President, will also moderate a session titled, “W117: Implementing a Successful Managerial Cost Accounting Program”. Additionally, Lloyd Farmer, MIL Vice President, will be serving on the technical committee at the conference.
“I’m very excited for this year’s conference theme, which has to do with learning from our past but looking to the future of our industry and what it takes to be successful,” said Weiner. “Technology is rapidly evolving and it changes the way we offer our services. The sessions will certainly provide fruitful discussion for updating our current systems and ways in which we, as individuals, can improve ourselves and our practices to become more successful leaders. Being able to moderate is a special privilege, which I look forward to.”
The PDC is regarded as an authoritative source for the knowledge and contacts you need to succeed in today’s constantly changing environment. The event provides the opportunity to learn about the latest research and information about the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the constantly changing rules and standards, new management techniques, technological advances, and practical tips for bringing greater efficiency to government operations.
This year, Atlanta, Ga. will host the PDC at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis from July 10- 13, playing to the theme of “Celebrating Our Past, Embracing the Future.”
