Corporate Business Development EVP moves upward, looks to advance business strategy
BOWIE, Md.—July 11, 2016— Nearly two years after joining The MIL Corporation (MIL) and a year of leading Corporate Business Development (CBD) as an Executive Vice President (EVP), Marisa Daley has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective July 1. Daley, an executive with over 20 years of federal government experience, will oversee MIL’s ongoing business operations and procedures to include the human resources department.
MIL, a 36-year-old mid-sized government contractor, refreshed its marketing presence when Daley assumed her role as CBD EVP in 2014. Spearheading the effort to energize the brand, Daley guided MIL through successful marketing, advertising, social media, and on-going website redesign initiatives. Additionally, her efforts included realigning business strategy and developing reach into new corporate markets. As a result, MIL has an enhanced team of senior leaders and technical innovators who look to double corporate revenue by 2020.
“This is an exciting time for MIL,” said Daley. “We have the opportunity to transition from our roots as a smaller, home-grown business to a much more extensive, competitive presence in the federal space. I am excited to retain our mantra of “people making the difference” while leading our organization into new and diverse marketplaces.”
In her new role as COO, Daley will guide MIL’s organizational and business strategy across all leadership teams and refine human resource processes and procedures. The integration of these two areas will result in a cohesive offering of aligned services and specialists. Daley will report to the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Maurice I. Long, Jr.
“We are thrilled to have Marisa as our new COO,” stated Long. “Since the day she came onboard, Marisa worked tirelessly to gather intelligence on every aspect of our operation here at MIL in order to truly understand how to move us forward. Because of her dedication to realize the strengths of each of our business areas and unite them into a more whole, purpose-driven company, I know we are in great hands as we continue to grow.”
Prior to joining MIL, Daley served as the president and founder of HPT Advisory Services, an economically disadvantaged woman-owned-small-business (EDWOSB). Daley’s experience also includes leading PwC’s federal contracts in Atlanta, GA for over seven years. Daley holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University, Maryland and obtained her Program Management Professional certification from the Program Management Institute. She also serves on the board of directors for Spark Ventures, a non-profit organization.
