What were you doing before joining MIL?

Prior to MIL I was a data manager for an industrial distribution company located in Charleston, SC.

Why did you decide to join MIL?

I found myself working in technology positions/projects early on in my career and wanted to join a company whose focus was IT.

What are you working on now?

I am currently working with the State Department’s Global System Operations group focused on maintaining software applications used by CGFS.

What is important about your work?

An important aspect of my work is keeping the software applications available and updated for users all around the world.

What are the best aspects about your current job?

I find it rewarding to help achieve the CGFS’s technical initiatives and working alongside a great team of IT professionals.

Why do you enjoy working at MIL?

I’ve been able to experience multiple areas of the federal IT industry working with MIL. These experiences include business analysis, software testing, and system administration. Also, MIL does a good job promoting work-life balance.

What is the most challenging project you’ve worked on at MIL?

The current conversion of State’s legacy payroll system to PeopleSoft is probably the most challenging project I have been a part of.

What is the best piece of career advice you can offer someone in your field who is either applying to or beginning a career at MIL?

MIL has numerous career paths available and taking the time to network with teammates / clients can be beneficial to achieving career goals.
