Tamie Patterson
HR Coordinator
I started with MIL in 2014 as a temp employee with the title of HR Assistant, in which the job was only supposed to last 4-6 weeks. I worked as a temp until May 2016 and was then offered a full-time position as an HR Coordinator.
Describe your career path.
After accepting the title as an HR Coordinator in 2016, since that time, I’ve been promoted three times (HR Coordinator II, III and now HR Coordinator IV). In each of these HR roles, it’s been my goal to strive each and every day to display honesty and professionalism when interacting and to always show support of my colleagues and MIL. I take pride in providing great customer service and responsiveness to employees’ needs with a positive attitude.
In terms of career growth, what is one piece of advice you would offer someone beginning a career at MIL?
It’s very important to find your support or a mentor who has your best interest and is willing to take the time to help you further develop into your future career for success.
What is one professional highlight that stands out during your career at MIL?
The highlight for me has been since 2016, single handedly maintaining the yearly on/off boarding of new hires, creating conversion of each employee to electronic personnel filing system.
What do you love about your current position, and/or overall career at MIL?
Being an HR Coordinator, I love interacting with everyone and assisting them in any way that I can to resolve the issue/concern and make their day better. Additionally, earning the respect of my peers and the many employees that I have personally transitioned into MIL, always displaying teamwork, commitment, and dedication.
