What to Expect in MIL’s Application & Hiring Process
A clear and supportive journey—from application to onboarding
Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting your career, we want you to feel informed and confident as you apply to join the MIL team. Below is a breakdown of what you can expect from our hiring process.

Step 1: Apply Online
All candidates—internal or external—must apply through the MIL Careers Portal. Attach your current resume and ensure your application highlights your relevant experience.
Pro Tip: Clearly show how you meet the required qualifications listed in the job description to help us quickly see you as a strong match.

Step 2: Resume Review & Screening
Our recruiters will review your application against the qualifications for the role. If there’s a potential fit:
- You’ll be pre-screened via phone or email.
- Qualified resumes are shared with the hiring team for review.
If you’re not selected, you’ll still be notified—and we may reach out for future opportunities.

Step 3: Interview Process
You may be invited to participate in one or more interviews, depending on the position. These may be:
- Phone, virtual (via MS Teams), or in-person
- One-on-one interviews with your potential manager or team
- Panel interviews (rare, but possible)
Hiring Managers complete a standardized Interview Evaluation Form for each interview to ensure fair and thorough review.

Step 4: The Offer
If you’re selected:
- Your recruiter will reach out with a verbal offer.
- If you accept, a formal offer letter will be sent via our applicant system (Taleo).
- You’ll have 72 hours to review and accept your written offer.
Offers may be contingent on contract award, security clearance, or client approval.

Step 5: Background Check & Security Clearance (if applicable)
You’ll receive instructions to complete a background check and—if required—a security clearance questionnaire. Depending on the role, this may include:
- Submitting documentation for clearance verification
- Completing a public trust or other government-required processes
- Receiving direct communication from our Facility Security Officer (FSO)
Note: Don’t resign from your current job until contingencies are cleared and your start date is confirmed.

Step 6: Welcome to MIL – Onboarding
Once your background and clearance are complete:
- Your start date and orientation will be confirmed by our HR team.
- You’ll receive a welcome email and onboarding documents.
- Orientation details and login information will be sent prior to your first day.
We’ll make sure your equipment, access, and paperwork are ready to go so you can hit the ground running.
