Transition to our team
If you are a transitioning Servicemember with leadership skills, determination, and focus, you’ll fit right in here at MIL! In fact, we’ve got a program to help you along the way: SkillBridge. This program will improve post-service skills at no cost and provide an opportunity with a high-likelihood of employment.
What is SkillBridge?
- Servicemembers gain civilian experience and exposure through training, apprenticeship, or interning for the last six months (180 days) of active duty service.
- Per DoDI 1322.29, Servicemembers on approved TAD/TDY status participate in an apprenticeship or internship with approved companies with a high likelihood of employment after separation.
- Servicemembers continue to receive pay, benefits, and leave while enrolled in the program!
SkillBridge eligibility:
- SkillBridge is an opportunity for Servicemembers to plan for life after the military. The program matches career opportunities to military training and experience at the end of your service. SkillBridge, as an opportunity, provides enhancements to your marketability and post-separation career prospects.
- Any Servicemember (enlisted or officer) can apply for SkillBridge to utilize the last 180 days of service to train and learn with an approved industry partner. While enrolled in the program, participants continue to receive military compensation and continue to be covered under military benefits. Release from SkillBridge is always mission-dependent and unit Commanders must authorize participation prior to entering into any agreement with a SkillBridge industry partner.
