MIL CARES (Celebrates, Acknowledges, Responds, Energizes, and Strengthens) is tasked with organizing MIL involvement in community service efforts throughout the year. We believe in servicing the communities in which we live and work. Some examples include food drives, coat drives, Toys for Tots, collecting funds for disaster relief efforts, volunteering at Habitat for Humanity, or supporting our soldiers and Veterans. Some of our activities include:

Patriot Cruise and Salute 

Held on June 4, 2011, this event hosts Wounded Warriors and their families from Walter Reed Army Hospital for a day of boating, food, beverages, music, and fun. The purpose of the Patriot Cruise and Salute is for the community to dedicate time to thank Wounded Warriors and their families for the service and sacrifice, and also helps to provide a mental respite from their medical concerns. Last year, 157 Wounded Warriors and their families signed up for the event. MIL is proud to be a sponsor of this program.

Reindeer Run 

The Annual Reindeer Run’s goal is to raise funds for research and education at the MUSC Children’s Hospital and the Charitable Society of Charleston. Throughout the history of the event, the Charitable Society of Charleston (CSC) has donated over $370,000 to the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). MIL is an Exclusive Sponsor of this event. This event is not only a jolly good time for the more than 70 MIL team runners, walkers, and other volunteers but also an incredible opportunity for MIL to present its philanthropic side to our community. 

Holiday Donations

The Central Travel Agency supported the Lexington Park Elementary School with their Cherish the Children event for the holiday season. They collected new toys, new clothes, Christmas decorations, and cash donations to help families in need to have a better holiday season. The Central Travel Agency adopted this effort as their annual holiday family. Gifts and monetary donations were delivered by the team. 

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the leading resource for accurate, timely and credible information about cystic fibrosis. The MIL Corporation will participate as a corporate sponsor for The Great Strides Walk in Lexington Park, one of the country's most effective and efficient fundraising efforts.
