FAA/ABA IT and Financial Support
Situation: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Office of the Assistant Administrator for Financial Services/Chief Financial Officer (ABA) serves as FAA’s primary resource steward. ABA is responsible for managing the agency’s $14 billion budget, overseeing and maintaining financial systems, and spearheading government-wide management reforms. Managing and maintaining multiple contracts was time consuming and costly to the FAA.Action: FAA/ABA sought a contractor that could provide a wide range of IT, financial systems and accounting operations support with an excellent service reputation, the capacity to manage contract consolidation, and a cost-effective delivery structure. In a full and open competition with many respondents, FAA chose The MIL Corporation to answer its needs.
Result: MIL successfully transitioned support from multiple contractors for a financial help desk for Oracle Financial and Prism, accounting statements preparation, and financial analysis for financial statements and PAR preparation. MIL recruited selected incumbents and brought in their own knowledgeable staff. As consolidation continues, MIL also provides support in the areas of financial system testing, training, financial policy, capitalization/burdening, and reports development.
